IF, like Mical Teja, you feel as though you could run in town again, jump, and shake the ground for this Carnival, well, you may be able to do just that with an Adidas sneaker inspired by the festival itself.
Local fashion designer Anya Ayoung-Chee is at the helm of the design for the Adidas Forum Mid shoe Carnival collection, which was released yesterday, right in the heart of Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival season.
The gold metallic and teal-coloured mid high-top Adidas sneaker, making waves on social media, was designed through a partnership of which Ayoung-Chee played an essential role.
To tell the Carnival story, American-based School for Experiential Education in Design (SEED) in partnership with Pensole Design academy collaborated with the local designer. The shoes, available on Adidas’ website, are priced at US$160.
Additionally, Adidas slides from the collection, priced at US$70, were also released yesterday.
The sneakers and slides form part of an entire collection which includes clothing and jewelry. Read More
