Shondell ‘Dash’ Amada and Jalon "Boyzie" Olive came away with the Power and Groovy Soca Monarch titles for Spicemas 2024.
Boyzie’s patriotic song ‘Sweet Home’ brought out the emotion in the crowd at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium on Friday night. Donning the colours of the national flag, his electrifying performance was assisted both on stage by moko jumbies and dancers, but his back up singers were overshadowed by the crowd, who sang every word along with him.
He ended his performance by promising that Carriacou and Petit Martinique would stand tall once more, following the devastation of Hurricane Beryl which ravaged Grenada’s sister islands last month.
