Soca queen Destra Garcia says women are their own worst enemies in their struggle to achieve gender equality and success in life.
The Lavantille-born singer, who is celebrating her 25th year in the soca industry, made the comment at the City of Port-of-Spain's International Women's Day 2024 function on Friday.
Garcia, who was the featured speaker at the event, called on women to celebrate each other's success.
"Sometimes you have to empower somebody else to be a leader. Join a crew of ladies to help fix that crown because we are all queens. Sometimes we have to fix that crown of our sisters. Ladies, we are our own worst enemy sometimes. Men don't do those things you know. We are the ones that fight down each other," she said. Read More
