Jerome “Rome” Precilla is the heir apparent to the soca parang throne. Rome, dubbed the prince of parang soca by many of the genre’s stalwarts, has in recent years earned that illustrious title with a consistent string of sing-along Yuletide hits.
The Malabar-born singer first blipped on the Christmas music radar with the cheekily written “Loveable” in 2015. Since then, he has churned out the double entendre hits “Annie (Pone)” (2017), “Spanish Parang” (2016), “Apoo” (2018), “Lie Lie Lie” with Destra Garcia in 2020, “Eat Everything” (2021) and “Country Gyal” (2022), the latter for which he released a video four weeks ago.
