Steelband Music Festival returns after 11 years

Pan Trinbago president Beverley Ramsey-Moore said: “We are thrilled to unveil Canopeum Amoris (canopy of love) as this year’s theme for the National Steelband Music Festival. It is a tribute to the enduring love affair between our people and the captivating melodies of the pan. Through this festival, we aim to not only showcase the immense talent and versatility of our steelbands, but also to celebrate the universal language of love that binds us all.”

The event will take the format of a preliminary round similar to Panorama where adjudication takes place in the respective panyards and this will be followed by the final rounds. Categories include ensemble, single pan and orchestra.

Cash prizes for the ensemble category include first place —$100,000; second place—$90,000; third place—$80,000; fourth place—$70,000; fifth place —$60,000; and sixth place—$50,000. Read More
